The Content Editor lets you write and optimize content with a live AI recommendation score that updates as you type.

Where to find it

Go to Content > Editor in the left sidebar, or click Open in Editor from a content brief in the Visibility Gap page.

How it works

The editor is a rich text editor with a live scoring panel on the side. As you write, GRRO scores your content against the same 9 categories used by the Content Scorer. The score updates in real time (with a 1-second delay after you stop typing).

Formatting options

  • Headings (H1 through H6)

  • Bold and italic text

  • Links

  • Bulleted and numbered lists

  • Tables (with header row support)

  • Character count

AI Assist

The editor has 5 AI-powered actions built in. Select any of these to have AI improve your content:

  1. Rewrite — Rewrites the content while keeping the same intent and meaning

  2. Expand — Adds more depth, examples, and supporting details

  3. Improve Citations — Adds source citations, attribution phrases, and statistics

  4. Add Structure — Improves heading hierarchy, adds lists, tables, and FAQ sections

  5. Summarize — Creates a concise version of the content

These use your brand voice settings (if configured in Settings > Brand Voice) to match your tone.

Auto-save

Your work is automatically saved every 5 seconds as a draft. You will never lose your writing.

Publishing

When your content is ready, click Publish to push it directly to a connected CMS:

  • WordPress

  • Shopify

  • Webflow

  • GitHub

Before publishing, GRRO will warn you if your content scores below 85. You can still publish, but it is recommended to optimize first.

To set up CMS connections, go to Settings > CMS Connections. See the integration guides for setup instructions.

Starting from a content brief

If you clicked "Open in Editor" from a Visibility Gap content brief, the editor will be pre-populated with the brief's outline including:

  • Target query

  • Suggested headings and sections

  • Key topics to cover

  • Target word count

This gives you a structured starting point instead of a blank page.

Tips

  • Keep the live score panel visible while writing. It shows you exactly what to improve.

  • Use "Improve Citations" liberally. Source citations carry the highest weight (18%) in the scoring algorithm.

  • Aim for 85+ before publishing. The score gate exists for a reason.

  • Use "Add Structure" if your content is mostly paragraphs. AI engines prefer lists, tables, and clear heading hierarchies.
