The GRRO Pixel is a small piece of JavaScript you add to your website. It tracks visitors who come from AI platforms, giving you data that traditional analytics tools don't capture.
What the Pixel does
When someone visits your website after clicking a link in ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, or another AI platform, the GRRO Pixel detects it. It records:
Which AI platform the visitor came from
Which page they landed on
When the visit happened
This data feeds into your Traffic analytics and contributes to your Attribution score (15% of your overall AI Visibility Score).
Why you need it
Traditional analytics tools like Google Analytics don't specifically break out traffic from AI platforms. The GRRO Pixel fills this gap. Without it, you're missing a key piece of the picture: whether your AI visibility is actually driving visits to your site.
How to install the Pixel
Step 1: Get your Pixel code
Go to the Attribution section in your GRRO dashboard and find the setup page. Your unique Pixel code will be displayed there, ready to copy.
Step 2: Add it to your website
Paste the JavaScript snippet into your website. It should go on every page you want to track. The most common approach is to add it to your site's header or footer template so it loads on all pages automatically.
Step 3: Verify it's working
After installing the Pixel, visit your site from an AI platform and check the Traffic analytics section in GRRO. You should see the visit recorded within a few minutes.
Setup instructions in the dashboard
Detailed setup instructions are available at the Attribution setup page in your dashboard. This includes code snippets and platform-specific guidance for common website builders and CMS platforms.
Common questions
Does the Pixel slow down my website?
No. The Pixel is lightweight and loads asynchronously, so it doesn't affect your page speed.
Does it track all visitors?
No. It only identifies visitors who arrive from AI platforms. It does not track visitors from search engines, social media, or direct traffic.
Do I need to update the Pixel?
No. The Pixel automatically stays up to date. Once you install it, you don't need to touch it again.
